Dr. Nwabisa Kolisi is an Economist and Researcher, and holds a PhD in Economics from Nelson Mandela University (NMMU). Her areas of expertise include Development Economics, BRICS countries, Macroeconomics, International Trade, Foreign Direct Investment, Labour Economics, Development Finance, and Cultural Economics.
She has published in both local and international journals and has presented papers at academic conferences in South Africa. From 2017 to 2022, she served as a Lecturer, Research Associate, and Student Research Supervisor at Nelson Mandela University.
During 2014-16, Dr Kolisi was a Trainee Economist at Eastern Cape Development Corporation. She has conducted research projects and provided consulting work for the World Bank Group, the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research, and the BRICS countries through the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS) .
